21700 Battery Chargers

You have probably just bought a 21700 battery flashlight, and you probably bought extra batteries for it because you are a responsible flashlight owner and person. But you don’t want to charge them one by one in the flashlight. You are looking for a 21700 battery charger. Not just any lithium battery charger will do. As we've talked about in 21700 Battery Guide, the 21700 battery is a bit larger and longer than the 18650 battery which has been around much longer than the 21700.

Features To Look For

There are a few things to keep in mind when looking for a 21700 battery charger or any battery charger in fact.

Battery Size

What batteries are you trying to charge? Of course in this situation you are trying to charge your 21700 batteries. But, chances are, those aren't the only rechargeable batteries you own, so it might be a good idea to get a charger that is also compatible with your other batteries. Be sure to read the manufacturers manual for the charger to ensure that it can charge your 21700 batteries. Like I said earlier, 21700 batteries are bigger than 18650 ones so a lot of 18650 batteries are not able to charger 21700s.

Safety Precautions

Safety protections are also important to consider, you want to keep your batteries and charger safe. So be sure to check if the chargers have any safety features that prevent common mishaps that can lead to either damage of batteries or even injury of your person. Some common safety features are reverse polarity protection, overcharging protection, and overheating protection.

Charging Speed & Display

Charging speed, LCD displays, and many other features might seem like a luxury but they are extremely important. If you’re a person who will probably use the charger often, then checking for these convenient features can actually be a big help. Some popular ones are charging status display, multi-bay channels support, and fast charging protocol support.

Power Options

Lastly, you want to consider how you will power the battery charger. Is it an ac or car power adapter? Maybe it's a usb charger, then you need to consider what power adapter you will use with it.
